Truth? This must be some kind of a joke. First of all, the above poster is
continuing to gratuitously slander here a person, Dr. Stephen Barrett, who is
not a member of Goanet, using unreliable information from bogus websites.
Perhaps, Dr. Barrett needs to be informed about this defamation campaign being
carried out on Goanet by this poster. But the interesting thing is that this
poster has failed to answer the simple question as to why he is carrying out
this campaign? It should be clear to everybody that only quacks should feel
threatened by Dr. Barrett.

Second, please check out the websites that this Goanetter has provided us,
which he believes contains the truth written by experts:

1. http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110112130339AAjkcqq

2.
http://subversivethinking.blogspot.com/2008/12/skeptic-stephen-barret-of-quackwatchorg.html

3. http://www.canlyme.com/quackwatch.html

4.
http://www.drug-info.biz/drug-information/dr-stephen-barrett-of-quackwatch-credible/

Let us find out who these "experts" are that he places his trust in are:

The posts on the first two websites are written by nameless and faceless fake
internet identities like Dona Curiosa. The first link is from a lay alternative
medicine website by people who call themselves "SkepCroc", "thenoseknows", "B",
"Marc", "Dr_ Lightning_Osteopath", and "Mr E". The second is from a male called
"Jime". Nobody can tell who these fake characters are and what their expertise
is.

The third guy named Jim Wilson runs a website he calls Canadian Lyme Disease
Foundation. He lists his degree as A. I. I. C. From all indications, he might
be telling us that he holds a certificate from one of the following entities:

Association des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Canada (Canadian Nurses
Association)
Association Internationale des Interprètes de Conférence
(International Association of Conference Interpreters)
Associate of the Insurance Institute of Canada
American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics (Arlington, TX)
Associazione Italiana Esperti in Infrastrutture Critiche (Italian)
Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Council
Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference
Army Imagery Intelligence Corps

According to his website he appears to believe he is an expert on
medicine and medical research because:

He was "a victim of lyme, father of victims of lyme. He has been
involved in networking with Lyme victims and providing information for
over 10 years. His background in the investigation of medical
malpractice and legal liability matters has given him insight into
medical research from a perspective of conflict of evidence."

Please see the board of directors on this link: http://www.canlyme.com/

The fourth website contains a write up by somebody who is afraid to use even a
fake name. So much for the so-called truth and expertise peddled by this
Goanetter.

But once again, the interesting unanswered question is of course, why does the
said Goanetter trust these unknown characters on the internet, and how does he
recognize truth from falsehood.

Now the claim of people dying from "conventional" medicine is demonstrably
false. If you read the pertinent medical scientific papers you will realize
that the numbers that they derive by pure extrapolation and speculation result
from lack of proper use of conventional medicine, human errors, medical
malpractice and quack medicine, such as that practiced by doctors who become
quacks.

Cheers,

Santosh
