[A] Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão <[email protected]>
[1] Dr Stephen Berrett who operates the Quackwatch.org website claims to be M.D in Psychiatry. [2] He has no expertise in any other field, [3] People all over the globe have made an opinion of him: http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110112130339AAjkcqq [4] The Courts in the US have also made an opinion of him: http://subversivethinking.blogspot.com/2008/12/skeptic-stephen-barret-of-quackwatchorg.html + http://www.canlyme.com/quackwatch.html [5] Only laymen with little knowledge of science or scientifically challenged persons will place trust in such non-experts, dishonest and pseudo-skeptics opinions and their blogs and ignore that Conventional medicine is the third leading killer in the US, 250,000 deaths/year; as mentioned in the above sites. == [B] jc had asked the following clarifications: re #1: Would Dr. Falcao please direct me to a site where Dr. Barrett (himself) claims to be an MD in Psychiatry? re #2: Perhaps, Dr. Falcao will expand on that statement - no doubt, taking into consideration the fact that the basic degree in Medicine in the US is a "Doctorate" i.e. post-graduate degree. re #3: People all over the world have opinions - about others. The challenge is to verify the basis of those opinions and if there are vested interests that lie behind those comments. re #4: Perhaps, Dr. Falcao will direct us "directly" to the so called-court opinions, he is referring to ....and not an opinion about a court opinion. re #5 (again): Perhaps, Dr. Falcao or the sites he refers us to, will provide evidence for the following: "Conventional medicine is the third leading killer in the US, 250,000 deaths/year". === [c] Dr. Falcao now has responded with a typical duck post. Hence, I will try provide further comment to the questions I asked re: Q(1): Would Dr. Falcao please direct me to a site where Dr. Barrett (himself) claims to be an MD in Psychiatry? Falcao says: "Just google" JC: Dr. Falcao has cutely ducked the question. He is clearly 'unaware' to put it very mildly. There is No MD in Psychiatry in the US. re Q (2) expertise etc JC: Dr. Falcao has done the proverbial duck. re: Q (4) re Court Opinions .... JC: Dr. Falcao is referring us to some lawyer ...instead of proving his statement. re Q (5) Conventional medicine being the killer of 250.000/year in the US JC: Dr. Falcao redirected me to read the Journal of American Medical Association July 26, 2000;284(4):483-5, Well, I did! The following two words are NOT be found in the said article i.e. "Conventional" and "250,000" ps: Dr. Falcao has added a few other points about "Board certification' and "eligibility for expert testimony'. It appears that Dr. Falcao is quite unaware of Board eligible v Board certified in the US system and also the requirements/acceptibility for 'Expert Witness Testimony' in US courts. jc .
