Mr. Naik, who visited Doordarshan Kendra on Friday evening, said that Miss Ermelinda Maria Dias, Director of Public Information Bureau, who has been given additional charge of operationalising Regional News Unit at Doordarshan Kendra, Panaji, has already taken charge and commenced her work. Mr. Naik who had discussion with Director of Doordarshan Shri C.L.Nandanpawar and Miss Dias said that for making Regional News Unit to make functional, it requires separate space in Doordarshan Kendra and equipments. Mr Naik said that although space is available in the Kendra, he will have to use his good offices with the Minister, to obtain equipments and personnel for the Station.. Shri Prasanna Prahudessai, AE, Station Engineer, Shri Uday Kamat, Programme Executive and Shri Cypriano Lopes, Programme Executive were also present on the occasion. Mr. Naik who was accompanied by Shri Gurudas Natekar, Secretary, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee further said that commissioning of News Bulletin from Doordarshan Kendra, Panaji, is already delayed, and that, he will tell Mrs. Soni to arrange to provide a tentative budget of rupees. 1 Crore for 2011-12 towards capital cost and running cost.
