Finally the much publicised event of Anna Hazare's public rally passed off as any regular event with a crowd not more than those that attend the Shigmo festival programs with a fair share of curious bystanders on the foot paths. But what has been the talk of the town is whether the organisers duped the public by declaring that Anna Hazare would attend the public meeting. That is what actually brought some of the people to Azad Maidan only to realise that the star speaker was absent and declared sick. What was comical was the repeated sermons by the organisers of the event who did not waste a moment in forwarding the opposition agenda of bashing Babush Monserate. The anti-corruption crusade further slipped into another opposition type orchestrated anti-mining propaganda by Kejriwal and Swami Agnivesh. They seemed to appease their hosts with what they would like to hear. And after all the swearing that they do not have any links with RSS or BJP, they failed to justify the use of certain symbols and rhetoric in their campaign. The people of Goa need to be congratulated for not supporting this tiatr organised by the divisive forces and hate machines of 'Sagres' and MoI fame. Would the organisers of the event be transparent enough to declare the names of sponsors of the event?
