WORK FOR A MONTH AND BE PAID FOR A YEAR Our Legislative Assembly barely meets for 30 days in a calendar year and it is minimum number of mandatory days. They want to face the onslaught of the opposition ire on issues like drugs, politician police nexus ,murders, corruption and bribes .plunder due to mining, environment degradation, pollution of land, water ,air ,rising prices of daily commodities ,etc. The perks and allowances make any other profession redundant in comparison. There is no minimum education qualification, experience and no on job training The facility for pension defies all laws connected with it. Even a day is reckoned to calculate so called pension, .There is no qualifying service for pension. Only Morarji Dessai objected vehemently, but quietly enjoyed this privilege Their main concerns are their own selfish dreams and welfare of their families for generation to come. How many of them you know ,who dwell into bringing forth and seriously study the legislation in force that adversely touches the people. Most of the time is lost in opening ceremonies of trivial nature , socializing, attending weddings, funerals ,birthday parties Right from day one their only primary concern is how to make money to win the next election and make hay while the sun shines, All other actions are deeply motivated to fool the people The legislators serious work is not projects about which they gloat all the time, The Govt. has departments to plan and execute works. The interference of the MLA`s only leads to lopsided progress in their own constituency exclusively. The electorate perpetually is in resentment mode, complaining about the indifferent attitude of our legislators They will never pass any legislation for two terms. Remember any one in that position can stir, push, influence outcomes. Did every one had the experience when they were elected ,that ii qualifies them to now to die with boots on? The only weapon that the electorate has is to change continuously our representatives Voters in the end are influenced by personal favours cunningly showered on them The examples of past legislators discarded from public life is the best thought to realize their intrinsic worth when out of power.
