Citing political compulsions and distracting the public with rumblings between Sushma and Jaitley, the shameless BJP has rewarded the Reddy brothers with ministerial berths in Karnataka. Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi cannot afford to reward anyone due to political compulsions as for the BJP it amounts to corruption. But when it comes to saving their own governments anything is justified. Goa has seen these naked contradictions from 2000 to 2004 in the guise of able and stable leadership.
In Goa the BJP and its sympathisers are busy backing the anti-mining agitations. Going by the Karnatka precedent ,does it mean that once BJP assumes power in Goa the anti-mining activists will be behind bars and the mine owners will be ministers? On one hand, BJP is gifting 25 assembly of their seats to the minorities. On the other hand it is fanning the flames of communalism over the medium of instruction issue. They pack off their kith and kin to USA and pretend to save culture back home. Simply exemplary politics, isn't it? -Soter D.
