Churchill Brothers sign coach Manuel, striker Henri in Lisbon

Panjim: Churchill Brothers president, Joaquim Alemao (Urban Development
Minister), completed the signing of head coach Manuel Gomes, popularly known as
Professor Neca and top Gabonese striker Henri Antchouet in Lisbon yesterday.
Raul Fernandes, representing the coach and player, was also present.
The signing of contracts was done at Tiara Park Atlantic Hotel, Lisbon as the
twosome are currently based in Porto.
Manuel Gomes has a vast experience having previously coached the Maldives
National team and teams in Portugal namely Benfica, teams in Mozambique, Kuwait.
Manuel stated that he was very happy to sign for Churchill Brothers who are the
only family run team in India. “I know the passion that the Alemao family
has for football, especially patron and PWD Minister Churchill and his brother
Joaquim. I will do my utmost to ensure that the team gains laurels in the
coming season and with the trust given to me by the Alemao family I shall do my
best. I know that several good players have been recruited and that the team
has already experienced players in the team. The signing of Henri was a wise
decision as he will add to the strength of the attack force stated,”
stated Prof Neca.
Henri Antchouet who currently plays for his country Gabon, stated that he was
very excited about playing for Churchill Brothers in India. “I have heard
so much about Indian football and more so about this great family run team
Churchill Brothers. When my manager Raul Fernandes asked me to play for
Churchill Brothers I readily agreed,” stated
Antchouet. “I have met with Joaquim and have spoken on the phone to
Churchill and they have already given me a warm welcome. They have put their
full trust in me being a part of the team. I together with all the other
members of the team will do our best to ensure that the team wins many laurels
next season and in the seasons to come,” remarked. “I would like to
thank the Alemao family especially Churchill and Joaquim for trusting my
abilities and I will not let them down. I would also like to thank my manager
Raul who has given me this golden opportunity to play my trade in this great
country,” concluded Antchouet.
Joaquim, who is also the AIFF vice-president, stated that he was very happy to
sign a coach and a player of such high caliber. “To get two experienced
persons in one go is a great achievement and I would like to thank the coach
and the player for signing for Churchill Brothers. We have put our trust in the
coach and the player and we are sure that they together with our entire team
will put up a sterling performance in the coming season, stated Joaquim from
Lisbon after the signing ceremony. He also thanked Raul, who has been
bringing players of repute to India.
