Hi pals, The monsoon feast of Sao Joao - St John - was celebrated throughout Goa, particularly in its coastal villages. I enjoy watching the colourful event at the Chinvar ward of Anjuna, where the fest is celebrated as a community event, in which at least people of three wards of the village come together. Generally, young men and children jump in the well traditionally for "Sao Joao" feast, but here in Anjuna, the highlight was Ms Carminha Mendonsa, an 80-year-old grandma, who plunged in the waters of the "zhor" once again. Comments please. Viva Sao Joao. Joel.
