I would honestly like to hear the truth nothing but the truth re Fr. Newton Rodrigues. I have been receiving emails from some of the community members since I am the President of the Goan Association of Calgary and Fr. Newton lives amongst us. Innocent until proven guilty. I have heard about the case in Goa against him but what was the outcome I have no idea. Was he framed as some say or was he really guilty of the crime. If he was guilty then how he could leave the country and move on to Canada. Soter says he is innocent, Aires and others say he is guilty but what was the verdict if at all by the Court?I did not want to get involved but being the President of the Goan Association of Calgary and the emails I get I want to know if anyone out there knows the real truth. I know Fr. Newton very well who I met in Canada and also other Goan Priests who are in Calgary.
