, Sandeep Heble posted the position of CCP Councilor Bharati Heble

"It is one thing to impose REASONABLE restrictions on the basis of
existing laws on ‘Obscenity and Public conduct’ while it is quite
another to act as some kind of a moral and cultural policeman who
sacrifices the principles of freedom and liberty at the altar of
supposed decorum and sanctity."

"WOMEN are liable to be the biggest victims of these new regulations,
where in one such case; a young girl was disallowed from entering the
temple because she was wearing shorts."

COMMENT:

I excerpted the above two paras from Councillor Heble.

In short: On the button!

The article represents a well thought out and reasoned position from a
thoughtful and caring individual. There are two words which are quite
striking by their presence in this post: (a) Reasonable (b) Women.

I commend Councilor Heble for this forthright expression of her
position and hope that many more CCP councilors take positions on ALL
matters which are similar in character to the above posting. The
capital city of Panjim/ Ponnje or Panaji will be well served when that
happens.
