Thanks Frederick for giving us this news about the new Town and Country Planning requirements. I believe something similar already exists in Chennai. In addition to Rainwater Harvesting and Garbage composting, I hope our planners consider requiring PARKING on site for both Residential and Commercial buildings. For commercial units a formula could be based on a number of cars in relation to the square meters of commercial space. For residences, at least two spaces per residential unit - one for the owner and one for visitors. While this will restrict the amount of building space, it is the need of the hour. Otherwise we will continue to have chaos in our streets.
