Election reforms
There are no two opinions about the urgent need for electoral
reforms. But will the elected representatives oblige on an issue,
which is hitting their core interests? Govt funding, two parties
system and right of recall and limiting the term for two periods only,
Those with criminal records and without basic educational
qualifications to participate in law making process They must also
declare the assets of even their families and those should also be in
public domain being public servants Those who want to change parties
or shift allegiance must resign and stand the test of re elections. The
parties on their own reserve seats for women The filing returns on
expenditure immediately within time limits or be under serious
punishment The use of religion, region and appeal to caste even
indirectly should be considered as an offence The entry through Raja
Sabha for occupying Ministerial posts should be absolutely abolished
The limit of expenses even indirectly attributed to the candidate
contesting. The distribution of goods, rations and articles even before
the date of elections must also be accounted Any influences to get
benefits from govt agencies should not be ignored Two immediate
members from the same family should not be permitted either as
independents or candidates of other parties The candidates must agree
to debate on public platform their programmes or view points Politics
and political interference in all spheres of National matters is
eroding the purity of life Interference in police functions,
appointments, judicial appointments transfers should also be factored
in The CBI and CVC,tax department should be outside the purview of
political sphere Political reforms in any form that will be acceptable
will eradicate many ills of the present social evils.
