Dear Mr. Majumdar, I was shocked and hurt to find Caju Feni mentioned in your slideshow of "The Most Disgusting Drinks" in the world. I quote below...
-------- http://www.askmen.com/top_10/entertainment/most-disgusting-drinks-on-earth_4.html No.4 Feni, India Feni is a drink from the southern Indian area of Goa and is made with either coconut, or more commonly, cashew nuts. It is triple-distilled and is served either neat or mixed with soda water or lemon juice. It is the sort of spirit that needs to come with a government health warning, and memories of the resulting hangover from a night on the feni is still enough to make me shudder nearly three years after I last sampled it. HOW DOES IT TASTE? The aroma of Feni is very strong but not terribly unpleasant. The taste is a combination of fruity, medicinal and death. --------- Mr. Majumdar, you obviously do not know your drinks well. 1) Feni is not made from cashew nuts. 2) It is very rare to find a triple distilled Caju Feni 3) A good Feni will not give you any hangover. You obviously drank some adulterated Feni and it serves you well. You claim to be a Dining & Drinks Correspondent but obviously you didn't do your homework nor did you source out the right stuff. Next time you are in Goa contact me and I will treat you to some pure Caju Feni. You will then understand it has to be listed in the 5 Best Drinks in The World and not the worst. I demand that you make a public apology on your site for insulting the Elixir of the Gods through your ignorance. If you do not apologise within a week I will inform Goans and Caju Feni aficionados worldwide to boycott your site and all products and services advertised on your site. Cheers! Cecil ==========
