*Goan association donates 1L to Caritas project*

PANAJI: In keeping with the spirit of Christmas and their annual tradition
of donating to noble causes, the Goan welfare association (GWA),

on Friday donated 1 lakh to Caritas
Goa<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Caritas-Goa>which is
setting up a centre for those affected by Alzheimer's and mentally
challenged adults in Goa.

GWA <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/GWA> has been donating
regularly for charitable causes in Goa including 3.38 lakh towards Caritas'
care home for HIV/AIDS
<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/(HIV/AIDS)>patients in Tivim
last year.

guided and converted GWA's altruistic desires into reality.

Faleiro lauded the charitable, social and cultural activities of GWA.
Describing GWA as "a pioneering organization doing yeoman service for the
Goans," Faleiro recalled how GWA had donated to help victims of

the Gujarat <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Gujarat> earthquake,
to children rights and you (CRY) and other organizations.

Fr Valerian Vaz, while thanking GWA and Faleiro, said the donation would be
used for Caritas Goa's next project of building a care centre for those
afflicted by Alzheimer's and mentally-challenged adults. Caritas Goa is
planning to build the centre at Sada in Mormugao where the government owns
land. Caritas Goa has requested the government for his land, Vaz said. GWA vice
