My example may not to you nor Rajan but its a good anecdote. Collectors: Keep collecting them! : )
But to give an example Fred. I was with a TamBrahm (Tamil Brahmin) academic. We were talking of Identity Issues, Progressives, Food, etc. At that point he brought up the name of another TamBrahm also an academic, looked me straight in the eye and said: Ask him whether they would cook their avail in the same way the Paraiyar (comes into English as Pariah) cooks in their own Brahmin home. I asked for clarification: whether he meant that the other progressive would not eat the Paraiyar's avial? He said me how come I missed the point. I had thankfully not, but was being very broad in my reasoning. TamBrahm 1's point was that the other would not even use the same recipe. It would have to be a TamBrahm avial recipe. Think of that. In that sense, most of our Christian mothers cook potato bhaji different from other Indians and often Christians from other parts an denominations. What follows is beyond Freds query: There has to be something to that Gauddo's cooking. I plan on trying it. On certain things Indian, blokes like Rajan know what they are talking. That I am certain of. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto > Message: 6 > Date: Sun, 15 Jan 2012 01:20:14 +0530 > From: Frederick FN Noronha ????????? ???????? *??????? ??????? > <[email protected]> > To: "Goa's premiere mailing list, estb. 1994!" > <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [Goanet] Mums the kitchen > > On 14 January 2012 03:55, Rajan P.
