Dear reader,

I think its great that Fr.Bismark is contesting. The intentions and future security of our state; especially Old Goa is most crucial for the coming times. The 'vintage' Cannon Law (which most local residents are ignorant of) cannot be held responsible nor be depended on for the future of Goa. And the present state including the future of Goa is most important TODAY.

Would any other traditional cultural state celebrations be banned so disrespectfully & in almost mafioso style if an accident of such loss occurred!? And to think of the BJP bartering/negotiating with the Aldona residents to vote for them IF they wanted a bridge. What freaks are we thinking of governing us & why!

God bless.

Karen

THE CAT AMONG THE PIGEONS: ELECTORAL POLITICS AS THE ROAD TO SALVATION?

The decision of Rev. Bismarque Dias to stand for
elections from the Cumbharjua constituency of the
Goa Assembly, albeit as an Independent candidate,
has set the cat among the pigeons, triggering a
heated debate. Those against the priest's
decision have based their arguments on Canon Law,
and those for him have referred to the rampant
           political corruption in Goa.
