Would consider it a privilege if you could find the time to read through it. Thank you for your support... Mayabhushan COMMENT: Dear Mayabhushan, The faint at heart need not rush in to do what you do. Your Pen is known to have Pricked the unscrupulous without discrimination (as to whether they were Kangress or Bhojje Pee). That clearly separates you from the partisan Hacktivists who are now suddenly concentrating their keyboards on 'Hututu and Kabbadi'. Two points though: [1] The exuberant hyperbole of Freedom, Liberation, Freedom of speech et al having been noted, YOU surely knew (or ought to have known) that once ONE decides to take on the 'powers that be', ONE surely expects the 'powers that be' to flex their muscles, often inordinately. AND, when one does it fairly and equitably (like you have done) and not selectively and partisanly like the Hacktivists, nor for any vendetta or personal-driven agendae like those who proclaim themselves as saviours or historians, ONE is likely to be 'left clinging on to a limb'. So, do understand that your effort is appreciated, even by individuals who are too afraid 'of the dispensations' to say so. You are indeed, One of a Kind presently in Goa. It is for this reason alone that I am truly delighted that a 'common friend' (always looking out to help others) has shown you a path to try keep your head above water while still remaining ethical. Trust me, ALL fields of endeavour face this challenge. It is one which is faced best when one has 'clean' resources to assist. [2] The above point [1] notwithstanding, I remain perplexed by what I perceive to be your reluctance in correcting the error made in the "Parrikar Bans ...." story. As one who believes that individuals who make errors in my profession, should acknowledge the errors upfront, I was more than a bit surprised that the "Bans" error went without correction. best as always jc ======== >From April 11, 2012 Mayabhushan wrote: Parrikar bans media from secretariat during cabinet BRIEFINGS Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ) president Pandurang Gaonkar denounced the move. "This is wrong. It is unfortunate because Parrikar projects himself as a transparent chief minister. What is there to hide in cabinet meetings?" RESPONSE: My dear Mayabhushan, If the "BRIEFINGS" headline is yours, is it accurate? Did Mr. Parrikar state that he would ban the 'media from secretariat during cabinet BRIEFINGS'? BTW: Who then would he brief? I have further questions: How does the GUJ choose its president? Do you agree with president Pandurang Gaonkar's statement? Are "we" not aware WHY cabinet meetings must Necessarily be PRIVATE ....but the cabinet decision PUBLIC? Is the GUJ president NOT aware? IF he is, why is he stating nonsense? Will he then state: That VOTING in elections must be public + "What is there to hide in VOTING"? When will the GUJ decide to have a reasonably knowledgeable person as the next president? Is the following headline (bye line IANS) accurate? Ban journalists from secretariat: Parrikar http://twocircles.net/2012apr11/ban_journalists_secretariat_parrikar.html.
