Forest officials on toes as frogs arrive in hordes in Margao fields
[email protected] MARGAO: Forest officials on Sunday morning descended along the eastern bypass as dozens of frogs surfaced in the low lying fields. Much to the surprise of the officials, a large number of frogs were spotted in the shallow waters. A forest official informed that they have decided to patrol the area fearing poaching by the youth. What has made them apprehensive was the fact that it was estimated that the low lying fields were playing host to over 200 frogs and could be the target of poachers in the absence of any patrolling. “We will continue our patrolling of the area to keep the poachers at bay. If necessary, we will inform the police to make rounds of the area”, informed an official.
