COMMENTS:

This Party has made a statement a long time ago when 'FORCE' erupted to demand MOI in 'ENGLISH', stating that that the Marathi Mauxi of Goa's undisputable mother tongue KONKANI was on it's way to be disinherited. Our Predictions have come true.

When Manohar Parrikar made a statement prior to the declaration of the MOI policy for Goa recently that MOI will be GOA'S MOTHER TONGUE, this party applauded his statement with a warning that he should stick to his statement, knowing fully well that Marathi is not, repeat, not, the mother tongue of Goans. It may be considered as Goa's Mother tongue but it is NOT. Marathi is the Religious language of the Hindus of Goa.

When CM placated the 'FORCE' by giving grants to English Primary Schools ( limited as it was), this party hailed this decision understanding fully well that 'all will not be well' and that there was a possibility of a wide rift.

This Party had gone on record earlier to say that Government grants should go only to Konkani Medium Primary Schools. That if Marathi was also given grants, then English must also get grants.

This Party has been convinced that ENGLISH Language would be the catalyst to get Marathi out of the blood circulation of Goa's circulatory system, which has been diluting KONKANI for far too long. And this has happened.

Goans must remember that any Government worth it's salt must opt for 'mother tongue' as MOI in the Government run Primary schools as 95+ per cent of Goan kids are born speaking KONKANI, the Goa's mother tongue and Goa's Official Language. Any other language as MOI (including English and Marathi) in Government run Primary schools is not acceptable. Let other Primary schools with MOI in the languages of their choice crop and the government should have no problem to give them the grants ( regional languages) which come from the Centre ( where KONKANI will also be beneficiary). But GOA GOVERNMENT GRANTS TO PRIMARY SCHOOLS WILL BE FOR THOSE SCHOOLS ONLY WHICH HAVE KONKANI AS MOI.

Goa Su-Raj Party shall implement this policy with full conviction and understanding that it will be accepted by all Goans unilaterally. There will be also a state of the art English language class in the Primary schools with MOI as Konkani to make the transition of the students from Primary to Secondary level proficiently smooth.

GOANS MUST REMEMBER THAT ANY OTHER LANGUAGE IN THE PRIMARY SECTION AS MOI - YOU ARE TEACHING THE CHILD ANOTHER ALIEN LANGUAGE ALTOGETHER AND NOT INSTRUCTING THE CHILD IN THE LANGUAGE IT KNOWS AND HAS MASTERED FROM BIRTH. For the former, the whole life span is available to excel. For the latter it is a great LOSS.
