After sending my previous post (in response to my good friend Floriano Lobo), I had the opportunity to watch TWO Prudent Media videos on You tube.
The first one features CM Manohar Parrikar, the second Fr. Mousinho de Ataide, I appreciate Manohar Parrikar's Konklish. He is an intelligent man who knows how to be flexible IF that is what he has to do in order to communicate with his electorate. In doing so, he makes NO pretense about believing that Living Modern Languages are rigid. Besides that, whether I agree with what he says or not, I absolutely enjoyed the simplicity and ease with which he was able to communicate. The same, If I may say so, is how I feel about Digambar Kamat. These two gentlemen are a pleasure to listen to. To these fine gentlemen, I say: Thank You Sirs, for that pleasure. On the other hand, we have Fr. Mousinho. He too is (from what I understand) .... a very learned man. NOW .... listen to him speak and ask yourself this question: IS THIS How Mousinho spoke to his mother and/or vice-versa? And WHICH Konkani (or even Kokni) Primary School did Mousinho attend? I must say this, and some of you might disagree with me, BUT here is a general position I would take with Priests: a: You are good at performing the ceremony of Marriage BUT please do NOT decide the mechanical method of contraception married couples should or should NOT use. And Yes, The Rhythm method with all its modifications is best described as Porcaria. I believe that Priests would be able to advise on the use of mechanical contraception, when they have successfully guided their own marital life through the maze of intense family life. b: You are good at building schools and providing educational and sports opportunities for children BUT, please do NOT try to decide what Parents should do with regards to finding better ECONOMIC avenues for their children......(does not apply to Commie Countries) And NO ..... These children will NOT join the seminary and become priests just because they wont find be able to find any jobs (with their Kokni) besides being Cooks and Butlers. (NOT that any form of work or vocation including being a Cook, Butler or Priests is any lesser in stature than any other) I believe that Priests would be able to advise on the future of others' children, when they have successfully guided their own children through the maze of intense competition. BTW: That recent priestly foray into politics (which effectively denied a woman candidate the opportunity to serve) is best left without comment. The people of that constituency spoke in NO uncertain terms and gave that Political-Priest a nice little "No Thank You" and "Don't call again unless we call you". jc 1: Parrikar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5CJWgmT6Uk&feature=youtube_gdata 2: Mousinho http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2mL72gatd4&feature=relmfu
