Eugene,
1) Goans have long represented Great Britain at the Olympics. I know Rui
Saldanha played hockey for GB at the 1972 Olympics.

2) I would honour the Goans who made it to any Olympic team and mention their
names whenever possible.
I am perplexed why you want to leave them out.

In addition to the countries you mention:
3) Trevor Fernandes, a Goan born in Zanzibar, played field hockey for the USA
at the 1984 Olympics.
4) Zeno Fernandes, another Goan born in Zanzibar was not just, "in the Mexican
team." He was the Captain of the Mexican Olympic team. As all sportsmen know,
there is a big difference.
5) There is the possibility that at one point in time, the field hockey coaches
of the Mexican, USA and Canadian Olympic teams were all Goans.

6) S. Africa has been a power house in African hockey in this century and the
previous one. It has some of the oldest hockey associations in Africa. What
makes you say that it took up hockey very recently?

7) Freddie Mercury, still one of Britain's most popular musicians, was born in
Zanzibar.

8) Anyone can write fiction. Anyone can have errors in their writings. A
problem arises only when these authors try to pass off fiction/errors as Gods
truth. Whenever I try to correct an error, I find that the people who accept
the corrections are those who will profit from the same. On the other hand,
there are the infallible who turn to abuse when errors are pointed out. I am
sure we all know some of these 'infallible's.'

9) It is really sad that only one person in Toronto knows of an "underworld'
here and that too, inhabited by Goans.
