Opposition demands P.M. resignation It is more than 30 times now that resignation of P.M. is being demanded. It is a joke of the century, that reflects the inability of the NDA to dislodge the ruling alliance of UPAII. It is absurd to think that P.M. will oblige them and they know it too well of the futility of this approach.BJP is not asking Narendra Modi to resign for various acts of ommision and commission The Karnataka C.M. stayed put. supported by the BJP, when the issue of corruption was raised The argument in these cases is that they are not convicted and hence innocent until proved guilty. Is the P,M declared guilty? Is the CAG report a judgement? Has it been debated, scrutinized by the PAC.?The BJP wants immediate resignation and is shying away from the challenge of debate on the floor of the Parliament. Some want vote at the end of debate, but the UPA II is silent on this demand. Then there is argument that the ruling party was in total denial mode with regards to 2G and it was forced to by the S.C. The P.M is held morally responsible , as he was the Minister in charge of the Ministry of Coal. Congress states that they continued the policy of the previous NDA Govt, to defend themselves. The bureaucrats had recommended the allotment through auction, but this was ignored during the intervening period when most of the allotments were being made. The States were also a party to such decisions. At least 3 BJP ruled states had made favourable recommendations to their own players and objected to the process of auctions why did the NDA wake up on this impropriety after being silent over many years The UPAII defense is that were being guided by the States interests and thus handicapped in taking reasonable, independent stand. Since the Minister was the P.M. the alibi of political compulsions were no defend able propositions,. This the second time NDA, notably the BJP wants to once again paralyse the functioning of the Parliament , thus setting bad precedents. Why will they not debate thread bare and expose the wrong doings in the Parliament, which the forum for such issues? Why are they running away from this responsibility, in stead of resorting to extra constitutional means? Are they afraid of being exposed,or do they lack strong arguments to convincingly put across the merits of their case ?The UPA II has the last chance to bring forth some important legislation, that will give them an edge over the opposition in the run up to the next general election and before the prior elections are scheduled in Gujerat etc. The UPA II wants a debate, but the adjournment of the Parliament by a day , thorough direction of the parliamentary Minister, though shameful, makes a different reading of their sincerity. Is it that the major parties are in collusion to protect their selfish interest of preventing skeletons from tumbling out of their secure cupboards? The debate alone will prove the truth and nail those responsible and if in the process the P.M. is nailed, it will strengthen the case of NDA.Creating chaos, disruptions is not parliamentary method, that has sanction of propriety. It is very astonishing for the time being that the other constituents of NDA are not exactly in tune with this demand. In fact the BJD is on record and open to the debate in the Parliament, The spokes person of Congress has assured to put aside conventions of discussing the CGA report before wetting it by the PAC, even in extra sessions if so required , if NDA will agree to full debate in the Parliament. The refusal and reluctance of NDA in accepting the challenge speaks poorly of the strategy of the Principal opposition party to usurp power through the back door The people would appreciate if the NDA and its allies forced such a step to legislate burning issues like the LOK PAL BILL, unearthing black money and disclosing the violators, reforms in elections, police , judiciary economy of rising prices and hardships faced by the people, but unfortunately these burning issues do not deserve their forceful attention or commitment and hence their hypocrisy stands exposed.
