The "mystery" of Siddharth Bandodkar's death has not been solved, though media reports and, if I remember correctly, officially records show it as "accidental death."
Some stories pointed a finger at Shasikala's husband. Media speculation, perhaps. I once visited the office of one of the family members of a well-known business family. On his desk I saw a photo of the person who I was visiting and another person. I asked him, "Isn't the one with you in the photo Siddharth Bandodkar?" He said, "yes." He explained that they were very close friends. I further enquired about what happened that fateful day and the rumours surrounding Sid's death. He said that it was impossible to believe that Siddharth could be so careless. I also remember that the later Dr. Leon D'Souza, a former mayor of Mumbai and later the health minister in the Maharashtra government, chartered a plane that carried a team of top doctors to Goa to save Sid. As Prajal says in his piece, Sid was brought to Mumbai and after valiant by the team of doctors he couldn't be saved. I forget if Shasikala was the CM at that time. Eugene
