As some of you might know, one of the problems of information disseminated on 
the internet and through mailing lists is, most of it is absolute nonsense. 
That is the case with the post below. It propagates the worst kind of 
falsehoods about Darwin and the scientific theory of evolution in the service 
of bogus religious creationism. Just to give you a sense of how such ignorance 
is spread by religious and political activists, here is an expose of the lie 
told below regarding Darwin's deathbed statement:

Here is what Darwin's daughter said about this lie:

"I was present at his deathbed. Lady Hope was not present during his last 
illness, or any illness. I believe he never even saw her, but in any case she 
had no influence over him in any department of thought or belief. He never 
recanted any of his scientific views, either then or earlier. We think the 
story of his conversion was fabricated in the U.S.A. . . . The whole story has 
no foundation whatever."
