Yes Doc, I remember both. The running helter skelter to cross from the school side to B X Furtado and L M Furtado or to the Metro Cinema and thereafter from the cinema to Kyani and Bastani. It was a wonder of Bombay that few accidents took place on that circle without any rules and traffic directions and given the density of that locale.
Also, pleasant memories of the 'crumb chops' or cutlets, with a generous helping of gravy all for 4 annas with one anna added for a loaf of bread at the Castle Hotel. Did you tell the daughter about it when forking out the fifty rupees for the modern and I am sure much smaller version? It was excavated and created to help pedestrians beat traffic around the circle. Finished with nice architectural touches, it really is a nice experience for the user. There are no vendors, a Bombay surprise, and a guide mans a help desk. Do use it if you visit the area. Rolly - Castle Hotel bill of fare now fifty rupees, a tad off the five annas we dropped. The daughter now at the desk. eric.
