To,

Sir,

Subject: GSRP comments on Anna Hazare's views on POLITICS.

Today is the birth anniversary of M.K. Gandhi, in whose footsteps Anna Hazare projects himself as moving. However, he does a great dis-service to his Guru, Gandhi, when he says that the path of politics is full of dirt. [TOI - 2.10.12 Page 10 ]. Gandhi knew very well of this and therefore took up the shovel to cast this dirt aside and move on. Has Anna Hazare forgotten this great sacrifice? If Gandhi was alive, and if he had anything to do with the drafting of the Constitution of the INC, things would be quite different and Anna Hazare would have no opportunity to say what he is saying.

This Party has been put on the roads some 12 years ago, and still striving in the direction to clean up the dirt which has been drowning GOANS, more so of late, in the understanding that POLITICS NEED NOT BE DIRTY. IT CAN ALSO BE VERY CLEAN. So said, this understanding has given prominence to the SHOVEL that will clean the dirt away in it's draft constitution w.r..t. the Articles 34, 37, 38 and 41. This party is all the way with Arvind Kejriwal seeking to form a new political party. Our blessing are with him. Hopefully, he will include the SHOVEL in his new party's draft constitution so that the party may sit back and relax, without over-burdening themselves at the Executive level, to see who is doing right and who is doing wrong. When the SYSTEM which is put in place after much deliberations and foresight, there is no scope for MANIPULATIONS, and whether the person joining the Party is clean or dirty does not arise. This is where Anna Hazare is WRONG. This Party is of the utmost belief that if the intensions of the founders of any political party are sincere and CLEAN, these must be reflected into the constitution of the party and it must be made sure that these clean intension remain over a long long period of time ( in the case of GSRP the clean intensions are protected vide Art. 41 of its constitution where no amendments to these Articles are allowed, as these are sealed for life of the party as not amendable).

Anna Hazare must know that the path to activism is fraught with mal-intensions, where crucial battles with the political class are withdrawn for appeasement. It is a well known fact that no NGO, no Activist can resist the pressures exerted by the powerful political class at all times as every one has a price, high or low. We say ' at all times' because there are activists, maybe even Anna Hazare himself, who will not bow down to any kind of pressures. But there are ample instances when the NGOs or activists have withdrawn from the court battles at the crucial moments by not being present in court when the cases are called out, thereby getting cases dismissed for pecuniary benefits.

Therefore the punch line that this Party wants understood is that Anna Hazare is WRONG and Arvind Kejriwal is RIGHT.

To illustrate this we shall fall back on the slogan that M K Gandhi has himself coined.
Quote
BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD
Unquote
And, BTW, this party is using this slogan on it's printed letter-heads.

Sincerely,
for GOA SU-RAAJ PARTY

Goa Su-Raj Party strongly believes that Parliamentary Elections must be contested by National Parties only AND/OR by a Federation of State Regional Parties. with a reciprocating understanding by the National Parties that the 'State Elections' shall be the prerogative of State Registered Political Parties only. Even then, and in the absence of such a ruling by the Election Commission of India, GSRP would want GOANS who are ERUDITE, knowledgeable about India and its problems, as well as World affairs, 'STATESMEN/WOMEN' , to contest on it's 'TICKET' in the coming 2014 Parliamentary Elections. Let GOA endeavour to send two real Parliamentarians to the House of the People in New Delhi for once.
