Frederick FN Noronha:
1) Iron ore mining in Goa is disrupting/ruining the flow of the water table.
2) It is also causing air pollution, with mass respiratory problems in villages
close to the mines.
3) Mine owners are paying little or no taxes to the Govt of Goa.
4) The Shah Commission has reported that miners have plundered the natural
resources and facilitated an "unrestricted, unchecked and unregulated export of
iron ore to China."

I find it embarrassing that a Chinese TV station finds the problem serious
enough to report on, while a journalist based in Goa describes the same as,
"Funny."

Merv 2012,  Do you mean our Chinese comrades simply see mud/ore and
iron the way you view gold? I'm sure our friend Xac could be of help
in sorting out issues like these... FN
