Cecil,
Rest assured that overseas Goans have the same respect for senior citizens that
Goans in Goa do.
However, there are people both in Goa and overseas who are the exception. You
may have noticed that Roland Francis has already sent posts disrespecting Goan
seniors living in Toronto. All he has done in this post is to focus his
disrespect on people not living in Toronto.
Here is a quote by Abraham J Heschel that I have in the legacy sector of my
pin-board:
"A test of a people is how it behaves toward the old. It is easy to love
children. Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children.
But the affection and care for the old, the incurable, the helpless are the
