I am surprised that Maria Do Ceu has sent her reply to Niz Goenkar but hasn't posted it on Goanet which the thread on Bringing Back Goans.... started. However, I would like to inform that Maria and I exchanged a few emails. It began with me asking her if her post on NG was either picked up by the website or she had sent it to it.
Her reply, "No issues as petty misunderstandings don't make a difference." She followed with another one saying, "Indeed I sent my letter on the subject issue to Niz G as well and shall respond to the commentators. In the meanwhile could you give me your comments on this as I want to reply and want your support: " May I ask the writer, who is this Eugene she is referring to in para 3,second line? What is the connection? Have I missed something?" My intended reply: I was responding to Goanet on the subject and have posted my letter at Niz Goenkar . Based on the subject on Goanet, many have given their views and one of them being Eugene Correia a vivid writer, whose letters I read with interest. I mentioned his name as I met him in Dubai and knowing he has lived in the Gulf he should be knowing how the Goans living here are so used to speaking in English to their children during the limited time they interact and Konkani is spoken by the parents to each other whose mother tongue is Konkani and no offence intended to him whatsoever. Let's not start pointing fingers at one another but concentrate on the subject and getting the best from our Government for Goans." On her request, I made a couple of changes, " It was a reply to the thread on the subject, Bringing back Goans to Goa: Deputy CM, on Goanet. Many have given their views and one of them being Eugene Correia a vivid writer, whose posts I read with interest. I mentioned his name as I met him ONCE in Dubai and knowing he has lived in the Gulf he should be knowing how the Goans living here are so used to speaking in English to their children during the limited time they interact and Konkani is spoken by the parents to each other whose mother tongue is Konkani. I must admit that I mentioned him in the wrong context, and must say that I meant no offence to him whatsoever. Let's not start pointing fingers at one another but concentrate on the subject and getting the best from our Government for Goans." The changes are as following: I added "once" before "in Dubai" and changed "and no offence intended to him whatsoever" with "I must admit that I mentioned him in the wrong context, and must say that I meant no offence to him whatsoever." I sent her another email requesting that she should post her message to NG as soon as possible because there have been two more attacks on me from commentators on the website. She wront back, I just came back from a meeting and have sent my comments. I cannot be rude and don't like others to be offensive either. Seems you have a lot of enemies, dear." Here's her message on NG: Sunday - Dec 16, 2012 I was responding to Goanet on the subject and have posted my letter at Niz Goenkar. Let's not start pointing fingers at one another but concentrate on the subject and getting the best from our Government for Goans.Even if Eugene has misunderstood my concept I don't hold any grudge against him for writing back on Goanet. I feel blessed when I can forgive a person so please do not hold your contempt Niz Goenkar will continue giving us news and supporting us and I thank Mr.Menino and may GOd bless him as it is not a joke to hold such responsible position and we, Goans are proud of him! Thanks for your understanding. Maria Do Ceu == As you read you will notice that she omitted "once" and added, "Even if Eugene..... and we, Goans are proud of him!" I don't know why she asked for my "support" in the first place and why she hadn't included the newly-added part in the one she sent me. She could have sent her message with asking for my help. And having asked, she now says that I have "misunderstood my concept" and she sort of forgives me. However, don't understand the line, "I feel blessed when I can forgive a person so please do not hold your contempt so please do not hold your contempt." Forgiving me for what, dear Maria? All I did is replied to your post on Goanet. I also requested Maria to post on Goanet so that she clarifies her point there where the thread began. Till writing this post, I haven't seen her reply appear on Goanet. I may not be wrong in assuming that Maria's behaviour verges on hypocrisy and conceitedness. Thanks Maria for asking for "support" and for "forgiving" me. I am a target of vicious comments on NG for my only sin of asking "Menino Sir" to remove the piece he said was sent to him by someone and he published it on seeing my nam.e Here's what he says in his email, "I carried it on NG because I received it by email and I saw your name on top of it. To give you respect I immediately carried it on NG. But you made a problem without waiting for my reaction after you sent the email to me to remove it." Asking to removing it is akin to creating a "problem" according to Menino. Let me echo Maria's sentiments, "may GOD bless him as it is not a joke to hold such responsible position and we, Goans are proud of him!" I am PROUD of you for your reading delights it gives me/ And as for Maria, she's in good company there. Merry Christmas to NG and all those commentators from one who called me "stupid" to the one who called me "urine". One thing I request Menino Sir, please, in future, avoid NG continuing to be a pisspot for commentators and for some writers.. Eugene Correia
