Venantius,

Greetings of the season to you and everybody else, including the harmless
chauvinists and the armchair bigots! Because I use the term so often, some
people ask me, what is the difference between a self-righteous chauvinist and a
regular person who believes that there are right and wrong answers to many
questions? I say that the difference is that the latter concerns
himself/herself only with natural facts and objective reality. The former, not
so much, and in some cases, not at all, as in the examples you have cited.

Cheers,

Santosh
