See who is sitting high on a haystack and giving sermons about change to
Goans in Goa as if they do not know what they are talking about.

I agree with Mervyn's views.
The world is changing. If we want Goa to progress then we must embrace this
concept of change.
Wherever in the world, when a new International airport is planned to be
built, the insiders always benefit.
The same is the case with Goa.
But for the greater good I feel that Mopa is the better option.
It is also curious to see that those who oppose Mopa seem to be
predominantly Catholic.
If we are to see Goans stay in Goa with well paying jobs - which good
infrastructure will inevitably bring then Mopa is the way to go.
A new airport at Mopa will also serve as a secondary airport for Mumbai and
other Maharashtrian residents. This will inevitably lead to good roads and
train services around the airport.
If we want our Goan youth to work as waiters in the burgeoning hotel
industry and other menial jobs that are available in the tourist industry
then we should stay with Dabolim and allow all our educated sons and
daughters to seek their careers outside Goa.
So in the short term some insiders will benefit with Mopa.
The long term view though is much brighter.

COMMENT:
Dear Mervyn,
Somewhere between leftist nonsensical platitudes and rightist
'grabiliciousness', you have forgotten the people who live there.
I also believe that you have not studied WHY Goans (except those with
IN-VESTED interests) are so incensed with MOPA, with Insider trading, Land
deals....or, for that matter, with the Happenings and the Will be
Happening to Dabolim.
Dabolim is soon to be Anjediva redux.
Perhaps, o senhor Borrowitz is having an effect on some of us.
