Sir,
The Goa Su-Raj Party - GSRP is strongly opposing the passing of the
ORDINANCE to exclude political parties from the ambit of the RTI Act, 2005.
Political Parties lie within the 'PUBLIC' domain and are responsible and
accountable to the people who exercise their franchise during elections to
the Parliament and/or the State Legislatures.
Contrary to the stand taken by most national and/or state political parties,
this political party which is the state regional political party of GOA
commends the decision of the CIC to bring all political parties under the
ambit of the RTI Act, 2005. Anything less will offer political parties the
carte-blanche to misuse their funding in order to enhance CORRUPTION rather
than reduce it, which is the need of the hour for this country that stands
very high on the list of 'CORRUPT COUNTRIES of the world.
All said and done, the voting public must be given a choice to vote for a
political party of their choice on 'informed' basis, and RTI Act gives this
informed choice to the voting public.
Let all political parties be above board, with nothing whatsoever remaining
hidden, that which will affect this 'informed choice'.
This PROPOSED malafide ORDINANCE must never see the light of the day if
INDIA wants to scale the heights on the SUPER POWER OF THE WORLD scale.
Hoping that better sense shall prevail to extricated the name of this
country, INDIA, from the list of CORRUPT NATIONS, altogether, the RTI Act
applicable to all political parties sans exceptions will be the right remedy
towards bringing this sick nation to all round HEALTH.
