For favour of publication in Goanet news; Regarding the contract given to Spanco, the company engage for the underground work, the ex- Power Minister Mr. Aleixo Sequeira clarifies and denies of any influence or interference on this contract works which has taken place during his tenure.. The underground work which were going on till now is found by the present Government, that the contractor was using substandard materials during his tenure. Sequeira denies and says that he did not have any role in the selection of tendering process , and now he does not mind for an inquiry which will reveal what went wrong. Apparently, it appears that he must have been aware what went wrong as he could not help it. Now it is too late as the work of laying the underground pipelines all over the state is almost completed and that the defective materials/ pipelines shall be costing tremendous financial package to this Government for replacement of pipes or removal , which will not be worthy doing it. The public is at the mercy now, for having substandard materials already laid underground and who knows whether these same materials are still be continued using by this present Power Minister, which needs to be scrutinized or inquired. Nobody bordered at that time when we have exposed this issue on several local newspapers not only about the substandard materials but the laying pipelines on zig zac manner, crossing on telephones and water lines, and irregular height at several places which I have the record available on my video. One fine day who knows we will have severe mishaps of electrocution and electrical leakages to the household and the workers carrying out the PWD and telephone repairs will be the immediate ones to be the most affected.
