On the Esplanade, Flora Fountain, Bombay. Antonio went
into business a hundred years ago, and catered to a clientele that was
almost exclusively Brit expats and Parsee. His son Milagres went on
to turn it into a very Saville Row styled establishment. He was elected
to the City Council in the 60's.
COMMENT :
Need we go far? Goa has a tailor for the last 10 yrs or so in the Legislature.
Even recently he was the Minister of Tourism.
Even though he has several wives/live-ins; people still vote for him.
Selma has another status to be added to 'tailors', and 'ostracised'
only by the educated few.
