Jose Colaco,
You and me see eye to eye on most issues. On a few, we have differences. I have
no pleasure in highlighting those differences.

A good presentation on any issue can make the reader here think, possibly
change his/her mind, and reduce our differences. I am here to learn. I am also
one of those who do not have the time nor desire to change someone else's mind.

Now, the issue of Portuguese citizenship and Goans can only be of value to
those who want to abandon Goa and seek their fortune in Europe. For these
people, the Portuguese offer is like Euros/Pounds falling from heaven. For
Goans who will always remain in Goa, the Portuguese citizenship insistence is
nothing more than a bad joke. The Portuguese got kicked out in 1961 and yet
insist that everyone they left behind are Portuguese. What kind of country will
flee from war leaving all its citizens behind? What is more astonishing, is
that some of the very people who were abandoned, are standing in line to claim
citizenship of such a country.

> BTW: do you know about Citizenship by birth ..... You could use Canada as a
> starting point

I have close to none, or very little knowledge of Canadian citizenship by
birth. The last time I was interested in this subject, I mailed in a birth
certificate and a passport was mailed back. The whole process took 48 hours.
