Any child born in the US is a citizen, a birth right: but not Canadian offspring. There are towns along the long border which share facilities like hospitals. No hard feelings around when an infant is born on the wrong side of the border: back home to sing the right anthem. I am not sure if any of this codified, it may just be tradition. eric.
