2nd OCTOBER - BARS CLOSED
Morarji Desai had slapped prohibition on Bombay in the 1950’s because Nehru had
said liquor is our biggest enemy (not Pakistan).
On the other hand, Gandhi had said we must learn to love our enemy (not
Pakistan).
Morarji was confused. He told us to go drink URINE, instead. And that made
music to the ‘aunties’ of Dhobhitalao. There, I used to sing: "three cheers to
Morarji’s ‘urine therapy."
So much for confusion on this, the 2nd of October.
