My desktop is much faster than my ibook.  cross-compiling would be a
big time saver.  Especially later with distcc.  Setting up a PPC
target toolchain shouldn't be to hard.  I've done it with crosstool
but it isn't exactly what I want.

There isn't much difference between the x86 and PPC ISOs.  Just
substitute isolinux with yaboot.  Generating the squashfs is the same.
 Heck, the initrd should be the same.  If Scratchbox can generate the
packages its very little work.  Getting Gobo on my ibook is a big
personal motivator.  The big issue is getting Scratchbox to create the
needed packages.
