Thanks to all that have replied! It seems that I am getting mail from the
development list (which I joined today), but not the users list which I
joined last week! I have checked my user account on the list and it seems
OK, but there are messages in the archive sent since I joined which have not
been EMailed to me!
Also sorry for the confusion over the faq it was the knowledge base I was
trying to access and that seems to be timing out!
Where is the best place to seek help? This list or the users (if I can get
EMails from there!)?
Compile also can only be run using sudo in a console! Eventhough I have set
myself up with admin rights Compile under Manager does not have the right to
create a directory to unpack an archive! Also every Recipe I have tried so
far bombs with compile errors during one of the components!
I have tried KMyMoney, KDE-SDK, and Wine for example!
All have failed with compiler errors! One component (ALC? sorry not in front
of the gobo system at present) gets a 404 error from the archive url, but
even if I skip that component others fail to compile with syntax errors in
the code unrelated to potential missing libraries.
After upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 using Manager I no longer have a graphical
login! I just get a text login and have to run startx after logging in! I
resolved that one by going back to KDE 3.5.3
After updating Scripts my network no longer shuts down properley as the dhcp
pid file is not deleted and dhcp will then not start on next boot I have to
sudo rm the file and then sudo StartTask Network to get it up
I would appreciate some help in getting my system configured with the
software I want!
I have dabbled with Linux for several years and am familiar with it although
I would not describe myself as an expert! I am also not a fan of the command
line and prefer graphical solutions wherever possible!
