I've been working on a sort of minimal GoboLinux that can run from a CD, with
the ability to save user files back to the CD (initially burned in multisession
mode) in the manner of Puppy Linux (I call my FrankenLinux "GoboPup"). The goal
is to set up a computer center from salvaged older machines that I can get for
about $125 each. The file system structure and system administration scripts of
GoboLinux are so good that I wanted a Gobo-based system for this project. KDE
and OpenOffice are a bit bulky for those PCs, so I started peking away at the
system (using some ideas from the ARM port). I'm running on a 664 MHz machine
with 256M RAM. It loads crucial programs into RAM at boot so that the desktop,
konqueror and OpenOffice programs start up much faster than a traditional
intall or running from the official GoboLinux CD. A "frugal installation" (like
with Puppy) will also be possible.

Is this something that you think others would be interested in?

In any case, thanks a lot for GoboLinux!
