I do not understand the details of what you are discussing (and I may
not need to).  However, I do have one request:

Please do not change Rootless (and/or the Gobo toolchain) so they ever
require root access.  Optional use of sudo is fine.

(When applications require special user accounts, I typically create
those accounts manually.  Then I run Rootless inside that account to
install Asterisk, Postfix, Apache, etc.  I never give installers root
access - that is the beauty of Rootless.)
