And hey, it's back. I've created a "Summer of Code project ideas" page
[1] with descriptions of projects for /S/Index and /S/Aliens; if
anybody else has any ideas they should add them to the page as well. I
don't really know how the GSOC setup works, but I guess we need to
sign up potential mentors for each project as well as students, so
there's space to add your name there. I've listed Lucas and Hisham as
possibilities for /S/Index and put my own hand up for /S/Aliens; add
or take away names and projects as you wish.

Students with ideas for projects should probably mail those to -devel
for feedback from everyone else before submitting them, so they get
some fine-tuning and the highest quality of applications go through.
