I've now wiped the MBR and repartitioned and formatted the stick.

the goboflash.zip contains an isolinux dir with an initrd (which I think
you have updated with http://www.calica.com/gobolinux/iso/initrd?),
should I replace the initrd from the live CD with this? (the goboflash
instructions didn't mention it)
