Crazy pet feature? As I said, it is used in portage and pacman (gentoo and archlinux), and it is so useful, I have thinked if gobolinux have this feature will be more flexible... > > You would need to explain better what you meant, but the answer is likely to > be no, there's no such plan, we don't think that the additional functionality > of it beyond what can already be achieved is useful, and tracking additional > non-tree metadata post-installation is both complicated and leaky. The ideia is simple, just grouping packages in a group (in archlinux) or set (in gentoo). It is really useful, when you use this distros you can see how so useful this features are. I moved from archlinux to gentoo, and I want to move from gentoo to gobolinux, because I like so much of GoboLinux FSH, Compile and Scripts. With this feature you have total control of all packages in the system, the organization of the packages is more clean and easy to see. I have search for a detailed description of portage packages set, but I dont find yet, I found this out dated link that introduces the idea.. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/glep/glep-0021.html Im sorry to not explain my self very well, my english is not good, but I want to help improves the usability of gobolinux. > > Where possible, where we have time, and where we are able to be helpful, we do > try to help new users.
