Hi, Thank you for the interest in the project! But really, there is no need to fork GoboLinux: if you want to work on developing a Gobo-like distro, why not taking the lead at developing GoboLinux itself? The distro seems "dormant" right now, but there are people working on keeping Gobo alive: check the #gobolinux channel at irc.freenode.net -- that is the main hub of development now. We're all interested in having a thriving distro based around the original ideas of GoboLinux, but unfortunately the original developers like me don't have the time/focus/energy to work on it anymore. Still, we're always keeping the doors open to whoever would like to join the Gobo community and work on the project.
