Hello, guys!

I tried to install Gobo-016 on VMWare 12.5 under Win7 x64 (if it’s important).
I created 20GB disk (what is more than enough) and start VM.

Once LiveCD loaded, I created one partition for a whole drive (using fdisk),
skipped swap and started “Installer”.

Problem #1: I forced to do it, since Gobo doesn’t allow “simplified allocation”
of drive. Nowadays there is no any serious reason to split one drive for /boot,
/home and other partitions.

Problem #2: On “select packages” stage ALL PACKAGES WERE SELECTED! Are you
serious?! Am I so needed firefox of DXF decoder?? Relax, people! Only very few
system packages are necessary to run Gobo and even X-server is not there.
Please, reconsider seriously WHAT to preselect during first run!

I selected packages for ~ 3GB (as system said).

Problem #3: Only a few packages had description. WHY?? Should I be “guru” of
all those “GRWL”, “LVMZ” and other abbreviations? I’m sure it’s a work for 2
hours to suck all descriptions from recipes and put in installer.

Problem #4: Autoinstall of packages went well only for first 30 packages, next
I got… NO SPACE ERROR! On 20GB drive. Again yes, “no space left on drive”! Did
we really pass “alpha” stage??

Sure, the last problem is just a small, stupid mistake in installer, but guys…
we cannot issue so raw distro! I’m not a newbie, but even me cannot say what
the hell is going on in setup.

So please let’s fix these childish problems and reissue new, more adequate
release.

Vincent.
