We are looking at using Google search API for our application, but the
terms of use seem very restrictive. In particular, they say that we
can not reorder the results provided by the API, or mix them with
other content. BING search API also seems to have similar
restrictions, while Yahoo BOSS does not have such restrictions.

If this is correct, how do all the metasearch engines out there work?
Many of them do show that a particular result was retrieved from
Google. In that case, are they breaking the Google terms of use, or
may be they have a different contract or Terms of Use?

Can someone help me understand this?

thanks
