Hi Finn, Of course, Vision Jinx is correct. However, another option that might be the easiest to implement is to create a CSE (at http://www.google.com/cse) and include all of the refinements you're interested in there. Then you can add it to your page in the form of an element. Simply click the "Look and Feel" link on the left-hand nav and customize the styling (if you choose). Clicking "Get code" will show you the code you need to copy and paste into your page.
The advantages to going this route are 1) easy to configure the look and drop onto your page, 2) 10 results per page (although you can also configure that manually using the Search API) and 3) if you include an AdSense Pub ID in your CSE, you will be able to share in the revenue from ads shown with the search results. I hope this helps, Adam On 10 fev, 09:31, Vision Jinx <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > Maybe I missed part of your question, but you can use the RESTful > aspects of the API and pass your CSE ID to that and parse the results > to your own format/look, you just can't change the ordering of them > but you can use the CSE labels/tags and make queries based off of > those refinements also. > > Does that help? > > Cheers! > Vision Jinx > > On Feb 10, 9:17 am, Finn <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > First of all I am not that savvy with the AJAX API issues but my > > question is rather generic: > > > * Currently one of my sites uses Google Ajax Search API; so my > > customers can make queries and find answers within my site. > > > * I need to customize the results such as you can do with Google CSE > > (http://code.google.com/intl/en/apis/customsearch/docs/ranking.html) > > and not sure if it is possible so consider to shift to CSE. > > > *If refinements aren´t possible in AJAX I stumbled into a mixed > > alternative: include a customized Google CSE within the current Google > > AJAX Search API (http://www.totallycommunications.co.uk/blog/c-227/ > > google-cse-and-ajax-search-api/). > > > Questions: > > > 1) Can I customize the results in Google AJAX API If so: any reference > > to do it? > > 2) If the search result can´t be modified in the API a) would you go > > to the mix AJAX + customized CSE solution (such as the above > > provided) or 2) strip out the API completely from my site and replace > > it with Google CSE? > > > Thanks for the advice in advance! > > > Finn -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google AJAX APIs" group.
