Thanks for the advice. I think this might have been related to a loading time issue with our files. They were all available, just very slow loading.
As an aside, on those examples with broken feeds I noticed that if you mouse over the navigation and then press forward/backwards it causes the script to be unresponsive. Not the most pleasant end user experience.
