I don't have a Blackberry to test, but if I'm not mistaken, different Blackberry models have different versions of the Blackberry browser. And some of them don't really support Javascript. If you could provide more information about the Blackberry model you're testing, maybe someone could check it on their hardware or even one of the emulators which RIM provides for developers.
